This Privacy Policy explains how the LED-Lit District Chrome extension handles data.

Overview

LED-Lit District is a local-first new tab dashboard extension for Chrome. The extension is designed to store dashboard data locally in your browser.

Data collection

LED-Lit District does not collect, sell, or transmit personal information to an external server operated by the extension developer.

The extension does not require an account and does not provide cloud synchronization.

Data stored locally

LED-Lit District may store the following data locally in your browser:

• Extension settings
• Dashboard layout settings
• Link card titles and URLs
• Group names and group order
• Theme and appearance settings
• Image references and locally saved card or background images
• Imported JSON data that you choose to paste or load into the extension

This data is stored using browser storage mechanisms such as chrome.storage.local and IndexedDB.

Screenshots and current tab information

LED-Lit District may use the current active tab only when you explicitly perform an extension action, such as adding the current page as a card or updating a card image with a screenshot.

Screenshots are user-controlled. The extension does not automatically browse websites in the background and does not automatically collect screenshots from registered sites.

Chrome permissions

storage

The storage permission is used to save settings, groups, cards, theme settings, and related local data in your browser.

tabs

The tabs permission is used for features such as opening cards, handling dashboard navigation, and optionally redirecting Chrome's new tab page to the LED-Lit District dashboard when the user enables that setting.

activeTab

The activeTab permission is used only after a user action, such as opening the extension popup or requesting a screenshot-related action for the current page.

Import and export

LED-Lit District may allow you to export or import dashboard data as JSON. Import and export operations are processed locally in your browser.

Third-party services

LED-Lit District does not use an external server operated by the extension developer to store your dashboard data.

Changes to this policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated when the extension changes. The latest version will be published on this page.
